On April 3, 2024, the Bank of Russia puts into circulation a commemorative silver coin with a face value of 25 rubles “Novotorzhsky Borisoglebsky Monastery, Tver Region” of the series “Monuments of Architecture of Russia” (catalog number 5115-0163).

The Novotorzhsky Boris and Gleb Monastery is one of the oldest Russian Orthodox monasteries. It was founded by the Monk Ephrem around 1038, during the reign of the Grand Prince of Kiev Yaroslav I Vladimirovich. The name of the monastery is connected with the names of the Russian princes Boris and Gleb, in honor of whom the first church was laid in those places.

The silver coin of 25 rubles (mass of precious metal in purity – 155.5 g, alloy grade – 925) has the shape of a circle with a diameter of 60.0 mm.

On the obverse and reverse sides of the coin there is a protruding edge around the circumference.

On the obverse side of the coin there is a relief image of the State Emblem of the Russian Federation, inscriptions: “RUSSIAN FEDERATION”, “BANK OF RUSSIA”, coin face value “25 RUBLES”, date “2024”, metal designation according to the Periodic System of Elements of D.I. Mendeleev, alloy grade, trademark of the St. Petersburg Mint and weight of the precious metal in purity.

The reverse side of the coin depicts a view of the architectural ensemble of the Novotorzhsky Borisoglebsky Monastery, executed in relief and laser matting technique; there are relief inscriptions on the circumference: above – “Novotorzhsky Borisoglebsky Monastery”, below, framed by decorative elements – “Tverskaya OBLAST”.

The side surface of the coin is fluted.

The coin is made in “pruf” quality.

Circulation of the coin – 1.0 thousand pieces.

The issued coin is a legal means of cash payment on the territory of the Russian Federation and is obligatory for acceptance at face value in all types of payments without restrictions.
