The training program “Architects.rf” is being implemented in Russia for the sixth year

The training program “Architects.rf” is being implemented in Russia for the sixth year. It was launched in 2018 by order of the President and extended by the Chairman of the Government until 2024. The program is aimed at expanding the country’s human resources potential, which will ensure the development of the urban environment and improve the living conditions of citizens. Now the selection stage of the leadership professional development program, organized by the development institute “DOM.RF”, has been completed. The competition for participation in the new stream has successfully passed 100 people – representatives of 12 professions from 74 cities of 64 regions, said Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

“The training program “Architects.rf” forms a community of professionals changing the image of cities and creating a comfortable urban environment. Its participants gain new knowledge and practical experience, familiarize themselves with advanced international architectural trends. Graduates of the program from 80 subjects actively participate in the development of real projects. The program has trained 40 chief architects of cities and regions. The number of those wishing to pass the program is growing annually, this year specialists from 86 regions and 244 cities and towns sent their applications. According to the results of the selection stage, 100 participants have been identified, who this year will increase their knowledge in the field of architecture and urban planning”, – said Marat Khusnullin.

Before the start of the new season of the program, it was decided to expand the range of professions whose representatives can participate. As a result, the finalists included architects and urban planners, urbanists, developers, sociologists, city managers, ecologists and tourism specialists. The leading cities in terms of the number of participants were Moscow, St. Petersburg, Voronezh, Irkutsk and Grozny.

“The peculiarity of the program “Architects.rf” is that it is constantly updated based on the experience of previous streams, taking into account changing urban trends and feedback from people, which we receive, for example, as part of the development of master plans. It is even more important that a community of energetic professionals who are not indifferent to the image of our cities has formed around the program and is constantly growing. Thanks to the program, they have the opportunity to influence the adoption of important urban planning decisions. In total, more than 500 professionals have passed through the program, and now they are making a significant contribution to improving the quality of life in the country with their real deeds and interesting ideas. This is the best result of our joint work,” said Vitaly Mutko, Director General of DOM.RF.

The selection campaign started in February. Based on the results of the questionnaire and the study of the applicants’ portfolios, 1184 applications were accepted for consideration. Then, specialists from all over Russia were video interviewed, talking about their professional experience and views on aspects of urban development. At the end of March, a selection committee of program graduates, chief architects of regions and cities, representatives of the trade community and DOM.RF formed the final list of participants of the offline program “Architects.rf”.

Training at the offline program “Architects.rf” involves participation in educational events of different formats, including lectures, practical classes and educational expeditions. In addition, throughout the program, finalists will work in groups on team projects.

In 2024, the program consists of five educational modules: four face-to-face and one distance learning module, which will be held online. The first module will take place in Moscow in April and will be dedicated to the development of participants’ professional competencies and personal qualities. A regional module with trips to Russian cities, an online module and an international module are planned for the summer. In the fall, the program participants will meet again in Moscow and present their projects.

The goal of the program is to develop the leadership skills of the participants, form new professional connections and raise the level of competence in the field of territorial development and architectural design in the country.
