More than six thousand second doors will be removed in the Moscow Metro lobbies by the end of April. The work will take place as part of the preparation of the transportation infrastructure for the summer season.

“In the transport should be comfortable at any time of year, so we remove the second doors in the lobbies to increase air exchange at the stations, and do everything necessary to keep the subway cool even in the heat,” – said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport

Maxim Liksutov.

During the cold season, the second doors prevent cold air from entering and help maintain a comfortable temperature at the stations. They will remain in storage until the fall. During this time, they will be cleaned up and repaired if necessary.
