On April 4, the Gazprom job fair was held in the Technopolis Polytech research building. The companies presented more than 150 burning vacancies for employment and over 120 places for internship throughout Russia. The organizer of the event is the Career Development Department of the Directorate of Basic Educational Programs of SPbPU. Polytechnic University is the flagship university of PJSC Gazprom.

28 subsidiaries and organizations participated in the fair: Gazprombank JSC, TGC-1 PJSC, Gazprom Neft PJSC, Gazprom Invest LLC, Gazprom Inform LLC, Gazprom Telecom LLC, Gazprom Gas Distribution Leningradskaya JSC region”, Sakhalin Energy LLC, Gazprom Transgaz St. Petersburg LLC and other companies. Career offers covered all areas of training from mechanical engineering to law and information technology.

Students and graduates learned about offers, conditions and filled out questionnaires. For their interest, company representatives presented a variety of souvenirs: from standard notepads, magnets, pens to unusual anti-stress devices and multi-tool key rings. Some organizations have prepared themed quizzes and gifts.

Talented specialists were offered work and practice in different parts of the vast country: St. Petersburg, Veliky Novgorod, Volgograd, Vologda, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Orenburg, Pskov, Komi, Mordovia, Smolensk, Tver, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Sakhalin, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

At our stand we are displaying a colorful voluminous book dedicated to the Sakhalin-2 project. The unique facilities of our company are presented in 3D format, including Russia’s first liquefied natural gas plant, so that students can clearly see where employees work,” said Ekaterina Shchapova, head of the department for selection and organization of personnel adaptation of Sakhalin Energy LLC.

The stand was also prepared by representatives of the St. Petersburg regional branch of the youth all-Russian public organization “Russian Student Teams” (SPbRO MOOO “RSO”), they were helped by SPbPU fighters. Students asked how to get an internship in the units and learned about the areas of activity. They were especially interested in visiting various enterprises in Russia, including PJSC Gazprom.”

There were also business activities on this day. Thus, at the meeting, representatives of Gazprom, RSO Engineering, SPbRO MOOO RSO and SPbPU student teams discussed the development of interaction. The commander of the St. Petersburg regional branch of the RSO, Alena Chuprova, spoke about the cooperation. Alexander Zabolotskikh, Deputy General Director of the company, reported on the experience of interaction on the development of student teams between RSO Engineering LLC and specialized universities in Russia. The commander of the headquarters of the SPbPU student detachments, Maria Sverchkova, presented the experience of the Polytechnic University in detachment work.

At the meeting, many questions were raised related to construction teams traveling for the season. We analyzed previous squad locations, identified problematic situations that soldiers faced, and looked at opportunities for improvement in upcoming projects. The meeting was held in a discussion format, each participant could speak out and make suggestions for further interaction,” shared Maria Sverchkova.

Participants of the round table “Problems of forming interaction between students and organizations. Expectation is reality” examined ways to help students better understand employment opportunities, career development and interaction with PJSC Gazprom during their studies at the university.

The issue of practical training in the process of teaching students is an integral part of the educational process. Only through practice can we evaluate how effectively we have prepared students for future work at the enterprises of PJSC Gazprom and its subsidiaries. Competently and properly organized practice allows students with an almost 70% probability of finding a job in the future, and with dispersed practice, they can start working at an enterprise without interrupting their studies. Thus, already from the third year, a student can realize his future, during the learning process, develop and deepen his knowledge in precisely those areas that will be useful for a successful career,” said the curator of the project “The flagship university of PJSC Gazprom” Yanis Olekhnovich, organizer and round table participant.

We regularly receive requests from students, including during career consultations, for internships and internships in subsidiaries and organizations of PJSC Gazprom. Therefore, such company days are very relevant, especially on the eve of the summer internship season. 28 employers from various fields of activity brought specific positions from all over Russia for our institutes. Polytechnicians can build a career in a major company and travel around the country. After the event, employers thanked our university for the quality of student training. The format of the job fair at the university allows you to build a career without leaving the Polytechnic University,” noted Elvira Tuktamysheva, head of the employment assistance sector of the career development department.
