A thunderstorm and strong winds with gusts of up to 17 meters per second are expected in Moscow this evening. This weather will remain in the city until tomorrow morning. In the morning, fog is possible in some areas with visibility up to 300–800 meters. The capital’s utilities have been put on high alert.

“According to forecasters, today after 19:00 and until the morning of Wednesday, April 10, rain, heavy in places, thunderstorms and wind gusts of up to 17 meters per second are expected in the capital region. In this regard, all city services have been placed on high alert; emergency teams from engineering companies and prefectures of administrative districts are on duty around the clock,” said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing, Communal Services and Improvement

Petr Biryukov.

The city is taking measures to protect residential and non-residential structures, transport and trade facilities, and buildings under construction from wind gusts.

The Metropolitan Department of Trade and Services asks catering establishments with summer verandas to strengthen all structures, close umbrellas and temporarily stop operating seasonal cafes.

Citizens are advised not to take shelter under trees and not to park cars near them. In case of an emergency, you should call 101 or 112.
