Today we are celebrating the Day of Russian Subsoil Use. This date was not chosen by chance. Last weekend the industry celebrated its professional holiday – Geologist’s Day.

First of all, I would like to congratulate all employees of the geological industry on the holiday.

Subsoil use has always been the basis of the Russian economy, a support for the sustainable socio-economic development of the regions, and the basis for the well-being of citizens. And the basis for the technological sovereignty of the country.

In recent years, thanks to the joint efforts of the state and private companies, a powerful potential has been formed, which has become a new stage in the development of domestic geological exploration.

The sanctions policy does not lead to a worsening of the situation in the industry. On the contrary, we are improving our performance and developing at an accelerated pace.

All priority areas of work in the field of subsoil use and geological exploration have been determined by the head of state. They are aimed, among other things, at developing measures to reduce the dependence of domestic industry on the import of scarce types of mineral raw materials. And for this, of course, geological exploration is needed. This is a strategic direction.

We are waiting for good results in the federal project “Geology: Revival of a Legend.”

Last year, work was carried out at 56 sites as part of the project. An increase in gold, silver, lead, titanium and other mineral resources has already been achieved.

We are preparing two large-scale geological exploration programs for the Far East and Siberia. Through the intensification of geological exploration work, the comprehensive socio-economic development of these macro-regions will be ensured.

The most important role is played by the geological and economic revaluation of registered state reserves.

As part of the creation of the Center for Technologies for Enrichment and Processing of Mineral Raw Materials, work was carried out to re-equip the laboratory testing complex.

Technologies have been developed for the enrichment of lithium ores and the extraction of lithium from natural brines.

Technological tests are being carried out on ores of molybdenum, titanium, uranium and other scarce types of mineral raw materials.

A fleet of Russian innovative technologies is being actively introduced in subsoil use.

Over four years, 115 domestic innovations have already been tested, all of them introduced into production.

We cannot ignore work in new territories.

As soon as possible after the destruction of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, specialists began working to provide the region with drinking water. Everything was done quickly and efficiently. I express my gratitude to the companies involved in this work.

Colleagues! A lot has been done, but much more remains to be done.

We have updated the Strategy for the Development of the Mineral Resources Base and expanded the planning horizons until 2050. The updated strategy and its implementation plan will become industry guidance documents for the coming years.

I sincerely hope that through the joint efforts of the Government, the Ministry of Natural Resources, Rosnedra and business, the industry will continue to develop dynamically.

Our goal is to provide key industries with mineral raw materials.

As the President said, “technological sovereignty projects should become the engine of industrial renewal and help the entire economy reach advanced levels of efficiency and competitiveness.”

I thank all industry workers for their successful work and congratulate you on your professional holiday!
