Andrey Belousov spoke at the plenary session “Technology is the key to sovereignty” of the international forum “Open Innovations”

First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov spoke at the plenary session “Technology is the key to sovereignty” of the international forum “Open Innovations”. In his speech, he touched on the prospects for the development of the global technological agenda. It, in particular, includes artificial intelligence, medical technology, component base and new computing methods, electric vehicles, and the creation of a low-orbit satellite constellation.

“All these areas are at the stage of economic development,” Andrey Belousov emphasized, adding that today the request for technology comes from large companies that have faced a paradigm shift in the global technological and scientific space and have paid attention to Russian technologies.

At the same time, competition should become one of the key factors in the development of the technology sector.

“Without competition, we will not create demand for new technologies from large and medium-sized companies,” said Andrey Belousov.

“High-tech business helps increase labor productivity, implement solutions related to AI, processing and storage of big data, and intelligent control systems in production. High demand allows technology companies to show revenue, wages and employment three times higher than the average for the SME sector,” said Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov.

According to him, this is, in particular, the result of the implementation of the main directions of the technological agenda of recent years, the fulfillment of the tasks set by the President of Russia to achieve the technological sovereignty of the country.

Also taking part in the plenary session “Technology is the key to sovereignty” of the international forum “Open Innovation” was the special representative of the President of Russia for digital and technological development Dmitry Peskov, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank PJSC Alexander Vedyakhin, President of Rostelecom PJSC Mikhail Oseevsky and others.
