Dmitry Chernyshenko held a meeting on organizing the fourth forum “Travel!”

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko held a meeting on organizing the fourth “Travel!” Forum, which will be held from June 12 to 16 at VDNKh. The event was also attended by Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Dmitry Vakhrukov, Deputy Director of the Roscongress Foundation, Director of the Travel! Forum. Vladimir Zatynaiko, General Director of the Directorate of the Exhibition of Achievements “Russia” Natalya Virtuozova, as well as representatives of specialized organizations and federal authorities, the State Duma, the Federation Council and development corporations.

“Russian President Vladimir Putin called for increasing the contribution of domestic tourism to Russia’s GDP. To do this, it is necessary to consolidate the common efforts of both government authorities and the business and expert communities. The Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation made a proposal to designate the “Travel!” forum as an anchor event in the field of tourism, which will present to citizens the tourism potential of our country and the opportunities of all types of tourism. It is also necessary to create conditions for the growth of mutual tourist flows with friendly countries. The “Travel!” forum should become one of the key events to promote the country’s tourism potential in foreign markets,” noted Dmitry Chernyshenko.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that tour operators and companies that produce tourism goods and services for travelers should be widely represented within the exposition part of the forum, and asked for assistance from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and other ministries in charge of various areas of tourism: in terms of auto tourism – the Ministry of Transport and Rosavtodor, rural tourism – the Ministry of Agriculture, scientific and educational – the Ministry of Education and Science.

He also instructed during the forum “Travel!” provide citizens with the opportunity to purchase tours on the spot at competitive rates. The Deputy Prime Minister also recommended creating the most effective and understandable customer journey for tourists at the event. In addition, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs need to work out the issue of participation in the forum of friendly countries. The organizers were instructed to create a checklist for all types of tourism and make a map based on their presentation at the forum.

The forum events will be integrated into the program of the international exhibition and forum “Russia”. At the suggestion of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the main topic of the forum will be international tourism. More than 20 countries have already responded to the invitation, including China, India, Thailand, Egypt, Algeria, Cuba and Tunisia. Negotiations are currently underway with representatives of international partners on the format of participation and the composition of the delegation.

The Ministry of Economic Development, together with the Roscongress Foundation, has worked out the architecture of the business program, which contains eight main thematic areas: state policy, international cooperation, transport, creation of tourism products, investments in the infrastructure of the future, people and profession, marketing of territories and services, technology.

“Over the years of its existence, the “Travel!” forum has significantly expanded its geography and gained interest from foreign countries, as it opens up new opportunities for interaction with Russian tourists. During this time, Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic were guest countries. The busy business program of the forum traditionally includes discussions of modern trends and technologies in the development of the tourism industry and the role of related sectors of the economy in providing our citizens with a varied, comfortable and safe holiday within our country. At the festival site, guests of our country are simultaneously shown the tourism potential of the constituent entities of all federal districts of the Russian Federation, and domestic and inbound tourism is being popularized. I am sure that this platform will once again bring together everyone who is in love with Russia and wants to get to know its beauty and riches better,” said Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov.

Last year, more than 2,800 delegates from 70 constituent entities of the Russian Federation and 11 foreign countries took part in the forum.

“The key events of the forum’s business days will be the plenary session, the All-Russian meeting of the Ministry of Economic Development with the heads of regional tourism departments and bilateral meetings with foreign partners in the format of working groups and commissions,” said Dmitry Vakhrukov.
