Reconstruction of the electrical substation Evpatoria, Republic of Crimea has been completed

In the Republic of Crimea, two facilities of the peninsula’s energy system have been put into operation – the Moinaki and Yevpatoria electrical substations, said Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

“We are very closely involved in modernizing the energy sector of Crimea. We also reconstruct high-voltage substations. Some of the work is being carried out at the expense of the regional budget; for others, the subject has attracted funds from infrastructure budget loans. For example, last year, at the expense of IBK, the Severnaya substation in Simferopol was put into operation, and now the Moinaki energy center in Evpatoria. In addition, at the expense of the funds of the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Krymenergo”, the reconstruction of the “Evpatoria” substation was completed. The modernization of these key facilities of the Crimean energy system made it possible not only to ensure a stable and uninterrupted power supply to thousands of consumers, but also, by increasing capacity, to create a reserve for connecting new facilities to the power grid: housing, urban infrastructure, and so on,” noted Marat Khusnullin.

According to the head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, the task of ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the peninsula is one of the priorities. “In addition, the re-equipment of Moinaki, Yevpatoria and other energy supply centers of the republic will become an incentive for the further development of the region and the launch of new large projects. In particular, in Evpatoria, in the Saki region, it is planned to build year-round resorts as part of the federal project “Five Seas and Lake Baikal”. There is also a technical renovation of 110 electrical substations throughout the republic, primarily in rural areas. I keep the issue of reconstruction of the electrical grid under special control,” he emphasized.

The modernization of the Evpatoria substation started at the end of 2021 and was carried out without stopping its operation. Power transformers and outdated cable networks were replaced, new switchgear was installed, relay protection and emergency automation were installed. The substation has full remote control. As a result of the reconstruction, the capacity of the energy center increased by 37.5%.

With the involvement of IBK funds, work was completed at the high-voltage substation “Moinaki” in the area of Lake Moinak in Evpatoria. Reconstruction began in December 2022. As a result of modernization and replacement of transformers and other equipment, its capacity increased almost fourfold – from 32 to 126 MV∙A.

The operator of the infrastructure budget loan program is the Territorial Development Fund. As Ilshat Shagiakhmetov, General Director of the FRT, noted, the IBC mechanism launches processes of active development of territories in the regions. “The Moinaki substation will fully provide electricity to the facilities that are planned to be built as part of the project for the development of the territory near Lake Moinaki. It includes 200 thousand sq. m. m of housing and a tourist and recreational complex with a total room area of 100 thousand square meters. m. And these are new enterprises and jobs, investments that lead to an increase in the well-being of the region and its residents. In addition, part of the apartments in this microdistrict will be transferred to the social needs of the region,” explained the head of the fund.

In 2023, thanks to an infrastructure budget loan, the Severnaya substation was also commissioned, the capacity of which increased fourfold after reconstruction. The facility provided electricity to 23 thousand consumers in Simferopol and the Simferopol region, including the actively developing Crimean Rose microdistrict. It is planned to build 350 thousand square meters. m of housing.
