Modernization of the infrastructure of Melitopol State University

In the capital of the Zaporozhye region, the city of Melitopol, they began to implement a large-scale program to modernize the infrastructure of the largest university in the region – Melitopol State University. Over the course of three years, builders will repair and renovate 42 facilities with a total area of about 100 thousand square meters. m, said Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

“The comprehensive program for modernizing the university’s infrastructure includes 21 academic buildings, seven of which, with an area of more than 33 thousand square meters. m, will be renovated this year. Also, major renovations will take place in five student dormitory buildings, gyms, a canteen, a library, boiler rooms and other facilities located on the territory of the university. It is important for us that in new regions, as throughout the country, all conditions are created for the education of young people and the training of qualified specialists,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.

Marat Khusnullin noted that in 2023, Melitopol State University received the status of a federal higher education institution. Currently, it is one of the key educational facilities in the region: the number of students is over 12.8 thousand students. The structure of the university includes five faculties and three colleges, where graduates are trained in 57 specialties and 96 educational programs.

The Deputy Chairman of the Government emphasized that all measures to repair the university infrastructure are synchronized with the program of socio-economic development of the Zaporozhye region and are carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Education and Science under the control of the PPC “Single Customer in the Construction Industry”.

“As part of large-scale repair and restoration work at the university, a comfortable educational environment must be created fairly quickly. Therefore, every year we need to repair more than 30 thousand square meters. m. This is a whole range of works: at each of the university’s infrastructure facilities, engineering systems, windows, doors, and roofing will be updated. We will also carry out repairs of facades and interiors, update all plumbing and equipment necessary for the operation of buildings,” commented Karen Oganesyan, general director of the public law company “Unified Customer in the Construction Industry.”
