70 years have passed since the release of the first products of the Angarsk Petrochemical Company (ANHK, part of the oil refining and petrochemical block of Rosneft). In 1954, the first batch of methanol was produced at the hydrogenation plant of Combine-16 (as the ANHK was then called).

The production of methanol, a component for the production of plastics and solvents, widely used in pharmaceuticals, as well as in paint and varnish, light and heavy industries, became a significant stage in the development of petrochemicals in Eastern Siberia.

The first methanol was produced from coal; the technology of those years was labor- and energy-intensive. In the mid-50s, a significant increase in oil production in the Soviet Union made it possible to repurpose the plant from coal feedstock to a more efficient oil feedstock.

During 1959-1965, powerful oil refining facilities were built and put into operation at the industrial site. Petrochemical production was further developed and brought the enterprise to the forefront of the industry. The products manufactured by ANKhK played a significant role in the development of a number of related industries.

Today ANKhK is the largest enterprise in Eastern Siberia for oil refining, production of petroleum products and petrochemicals. The installations’ capacity exceeds 10 million tons of oil per year, the processing depth is about 80%. According to these indicators, the company is one of the ten leading oil refining enterprises in the country. In 2022, ANKhK crossed the line of 800 million tons of processed oil.

Angarsk Petrochemical Company is the main supplier of petroleum products for the Irkutsk region and Eastern Siberia; products are supplied to 49 constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

The range of products, taking into account grades and grades, includes more than 270 items, including high-octane gasoline, diesel fuel, bitumen, petroleum coke, methanol, butyl and isobutyl alcohols, oils, etc.

ANKhK’s product range includes more than 140 types of oils that are in demand in various industries and vehicles. The company produces motor, transmission, compressor, transformer, hydraulic, industrial and turbine oils.

The pride of the enterprise is high-tech petrochemical products. The company produces a wide range of popular products – methanol, butyl alcohols, amines, hydrogen, acetylene, oxygen, nitrogen, etc. In addition, ANKhK supplies raw materials for related production – the Angarsk Polymer Plant, also part of Rosneft.

The quality of Angarsk petroleum products at each stage of production is controlled by our own testing center. Over the years of participation in the All-Russian competition “100 Best Products of Russia”, more than 150 types of ANKhK commercial products have been marked with gold and silver logos. The company was awarded the highest award of the competition “Pride of the Fatherland”, as well as special prizes: “Leader of Quality”, “For Success in Import Substitution”, “Innovation”, “Golden Hundred” and “For Loyalty to Quality”.

Rosneft is implementing a large-scale program to modernize production facilities at the ANKhK site, including the construction of new facilities that will increase the production of environmentally friendly fuels, expand the range of products, and create new jobs.

For more than 70 years, the Angarsk Petrochemical Company has played a significant role in the socio-economic development of the Irkutsk region, being a key part of the region’s fuel and energy complex. ANHK is one of the main taxpayers and employers in the region. More than seven thousand employees ensure the uninterrupted operation of the largest industrial complex in the Angara region, supplying consumers with in-demand, high-quality products.

Following the policy of social responsibility, ANHK takes an active part in solving significant social problems in the region, annually providing support to medical and educational institutions, orphanages, sports and cultural facilities of the city and region
