Directorate of the Development Program of the National Research University Higher School of Economics announces a competition of competencies in the interests of developing research in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Applications will be accepted until May 2, 2024.

“Your talent and expertise are needed to create breakthrough AI products for education, medicine and government. Already in 2024, the developed solutions for education will be tested at HSE with the possibility of further replication among partner universities. Join the competition and contribute to the development of human-centric services based on artificial intelligence,” says Alexey Masyutin, scientific director of the strategic project “AI Technologies for Humans”.

The competition is held with the aim of attracting qualified specialists to the Higher School of Economics to carry out scientific research and development within the framework of the strategic project “AI Technologies for Humans” of the Priority 2030 program:

“MLOps platform for execution and monitoring of AI models” (Moscow);

“AI assistant for applicants, students, teachers and academic leaders” (HSE National Research University – St. Petersburg, HSE National Research University – Perm);

“AI employee of the training office” (HSE National Research University – Nizhny Novgorod);

“AI for preoperative planning and postoperative assessment of results in spinal surgery” (National Research University Higher School of Economics – Nizhny Novgorod);

“Automatic intelligent system for assessing the progress of rehabilitation procedures after surgery” (National Research University Higher School of Economics – Nizhny Novgorod);

“Service for predictive analytics of graduate employment” (Higher School of Economics – Perm).

Detailed descriptions of the projects are presented at website competition. There are two types of applications within the competition:

1) individual application for a project team leader (PI); if selected, the manager will independently form a project team;

2) team application with the participation of the project team leader (PI) and other team members (researchers, developers) of up to 10 people.

All specialists with experience in relevant topics are invited to participate in the competition. Preference is given to candidates who have not previously had a long-term employment relationship with the Higher School of Economics. Participants are subject to mandatory qualification requirements, listed by link.

The selection advantage will also be:

availability of a Candidate of Sciences, Doctor of Sciences or PhD degree in a field corresponding to the subject of the project;

experience in implementing R&D projects, availability of publications on relevant topics in Q1 Scopus and Web of Science journals;

reports on relevant topics at level A and A* conferences in computer science;

availability (authorship) of the results of intellectual activity;

availability of monographs/monograph chapters on relevant topics.
