First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Andrei Belousov held a meeting on the development of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, where he instructed to create a unified digital environment for the use of charging stations for electric vehicles

The discussion took place within the framework of the implementation of the socio-economic development initiative of the Russian Federation and the federal project “Electric car and hydrogen car”.

The creation of a unified digital environment with the promising growth of charging stations will make the use of electric vehicles as efficient and accessible as possible, noted Andrey Belousov.

“In the next 6 years, the number of chargers should increase more than 10 times. With their number increasing, it is necessary to give motorists comfortable access to information about them,” he emphasized.

The First Deputy Prime Minister also ordered the development of a minimum set of requirements for national charging station services, which should cover more than half of Russian regions. These, in particular, include the need to ensure the ability to track the status of the station and connectors in real time, identify them in map services, and charge an electric vehicle through the service application.

“In order to popularize the electric vehicle market, we must not only make stations publicly available, but also create a unified digital environment, a digital network, on the basis of which operators will develop their services for the convenience of consumers,” Andrey Belousov emphasized.

At the moment, the number of fast electric charging stations in Russia is about 1,150 units, more than 10 thousand electric vehicles have been produced.

The Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, as the administrator of the federal project “Electric car and hydrogen car,” will continue to summarize proposals coming from industry federal executive authorities and the business community, a representative of the department noted.
