Lev Sokolshchik, Deputy Director Center for Educational Programs, Senior Researcher TSKEMI

“As a graduate of the program and director of the postdoc project “US Foreign Policy and Russian-American Relations,” I can definitely say that at the Center for Comprehensive European and International Studies (CCEIS) and at the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, postdocs have become integral members of the scientific team and research process. Coming from other institutions, they bring with them non-trivial practices and fresh ideas, which, thanks to the resource base of the Higher School of Economics, are transformed into new projects and scientific works. Covering a range of different tasks, postdocs make an important contribution to project activities, the development of priority scientific topics, and expert work at the university. Thus, the program has a kind of synergistic effect: on the one hand, its participants in the new academic environment receive ample opportunities for professional growth, and on the other, they themselves become a kind of catalyst stimulating the development of individual scientific subjects and their department.”
