Last year, 60.4 trillion cash rubles were received at bank cash desks and ATMs, and 63.4 trillion cash rubles were issued, the Bank of Russia calculated. The regulator publishes for the first time statistical data on cash turnover for individual banking operations, as well as regionally.

The bulk of cash receipts came from trade – 6.8 trillion rubles, which is 1.8% more than a year earlier. The influx of cash into the bank accounts of individuals increased by 29%, to 9.5 trillion rubles, while 11.7 trillion rubles were issued, which is also 29% higher than the previous year. For credit operations, cash receipts and withdrawals increased by 12 and 48%, respectively, and amounted to 1.1 trillion rubles each.

The leaders in cash turnover in Russia are Moscow and the Moscow region (27 and 8.4 billion rubles), St. Petersburg (7.9 billion rubles), and the Krasnodar Territory (5.8 billion rubles).
