The SPbPU Center for the Development of Continuing Education and the Lectorium have launched a unique advanced training program for Polytechnic teachers “Intensive on neural networks in education.” Lectorium combines an educational platform for hosting massive open online courses (MOOCs), a specialized publishing house for the development of MOOCs, and the largest open video archive of lectures in Russian. The author of the program is a specialist in the field of education and artificial intelligence Yakov Somov, general director and one of the founders of Lectorium LLC, director of the MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses) center at the State Budgetary Educational Institution “Presidential Physics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 239”.

Yakov Somov outlined his attitude to the penetration of neural networks into our lives: Just as mathematicians learned to live with calculators, everyone else will have to admit that the way they interact with information is changing. We at Lectorium are confident that neural networks in education are a reality that needs to be accepted and used. Therefore, our intensive training in working with neural networks is primarily an exchange of experience and the search for new solutions.

The goal of the intensive is to provide teachers with practical skills in the use of artificial intelligence tools to solve everyday problems that they encounter in their professional activities: from developing educational materials and test tasks to writing letters, reports and grant applications. The intensive provides the necessary knowledge and tools to successfully complete such tasks.

A special feature of the program is its emphasis on independent problem solving in an artificial intelligence environment. Intensive participants will learn to use specialized AI services, including the advanced ChatGPT 4.0 model. This will allow teachers not only to master the technologies of the future, but also to actively apply them in their daily work.
