Denis Manturov was presented with the latest developments of the institute in recent years in the field of hydroacoustic, radio engineering and coordinate-time measurements, time and frequency measurements, as well as the latest high-precision measuring instruments produced by VNIIFTRI.

One of the objects presented to the Deputy Prime Minister was a special multifunctional metrological pool. A unique complex, equipped with high-precision standards and measuring instruments, allows for research into existing and development of promising means of metrological support for measurements of hydroacoustic field parameters. The pool provided a multiple increase in the accuracy of measurements and control of noise emission parameters of modern, promising sea vessels and stationary offshore facilities in the Russian Federation. The pool was completely designed and created by VNIIFTRI and put into operation in 2024.

The next object visited by Denis Manturov was a complex of high-precision measurements of electromagnetic fields. The functionality of the complex, achieved through the design of the camera, the composition of the equipment and the reconfigurable circuit for its inclusion, as well as the algorithms used, provide a solution to a wide range of problems in testing and measuring the parameters of antennas and radio-electronic equipment, as well as its use as a leading laboratory in the field of antennas and radar measurements in Russia.

The Deputy Prime Minister also got acquainted with the complex for reproducing and storing time and frequency units based on frequency standards developed using quantum technologies based on laser cooling of atoms of matter (in particular, strontium atoms). The complex provides independent reproduction of a frequency unit with a non-excluded systematic error not exceeding 1·10–17. This corresponds to the level of the world’s leading laboratories engaged in measurements in the field of time and frequency. The introduction of the complex into the State primary standard of units of time, frequency and national time scale GET 1–2022 ensured a significant increase in the contribution of the national standard to the formation of UTC. In 2023, the contribution of GET 1–2022 to the formation of UTC was the maximum of all contributions of national standards of other countries.

Denis Manturov also inspected the latest developments of VNIIFTRI in the field of production of high-precision measuring instruments. The products were created with the support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade using a number of federal subsidies. These include an ultra-miniature quantum frequency standard based on microelectromechanical systems technology; high-precision relative gravimeter “Pedestrian”; astrometer for vertical line deviations; universal oscilloscope with a bandwidth of up to one gigahertz (1 GHz); a new line of wattmeters; ultrasonic radiation power meter and a number of others. Currently, VNIIFTRI is preparing to launch mass production of some of the most popular measuring instruments today: wattmeters and an oscilloscope (1 GHz), as well as quantum low-power generators of ultra-stable frequency (subminiature quantum standards).
