The average rate of regional compliance with the municipal investment standard exceeds 70%. This was stated by Deputy Director of the Department of Labor Productivity, Protection and Promotion of Capital Investments of the Ministry of Economic Development Dmitry Starovoitov during the Municipal Investment Forum that started in Tyumen. It was organized by the ministry together with the ANO National Association of Investment and Development Agencies (NAAIR) and the Tyumen region.

The main objectives of the forums are to form a community of municipal investment commissioners, popularize the municipal investment standard, and exchange work practices.

“In September last year, the Ministry of Economic Development approved a municipal investment standard consisting of 10 recommendations for working with investors. Its implementation will improve the quality of local project support. To exchange practices, we hold municipal investment forums together with NAAIR,” said Dmitry Starovoitov, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor Productivity, Protection and Promotion of Investments of the Ministry of Economic Development.

According to him, the demand for municipal investment standard instruments throughout the country is at a very high level.

“The average percentage of compliance with the standard across the country is more than 70%. And 9 regions have reached full compliance, 4 of them will host similar forums. These are the Tyumen and Lipetsk regions, the Republic of Tatarstan and the Krasnodar Territory,” explained a representative of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development.

During the forums, municipal investment commissioners are given the opportunity to present their practices in attracting and supporting investors, developing the municipal investment climate, and promoting entrepreneurial initiatives.

“I would like to note an interesting case from the Tyumen region – the “Captains of Business” acceleration programs. This is a good example of when business acts as a mentor for municipalities and helps territories identify new investment niches,” noted Dmitry Starovoitov.

The next municipal investment forums will take place on May 23–25 in Innopolis, August 21–23 in Lipetsk, and September 18–20 in Sochi.
