During a working trip to the Chechen Republic and the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Sergei Nazarov and General Director of Kavkaz.RF Andrei Yumshanov inspected the progress of construction of engineering and ski infrastructure facilities.

In particular, the active stage of creating a new ski area on the northern slope has begun at Veduchi. The contractor began installation of one of the unique engineering structures – the support of a four-kilometer cableway over the Argun Gorge. It will connect the southern and northern slopes of the resort. The height of this support is 80 meters, while at its peak the cable car will be located at an altitude of 400 meters above the ground. At the lower and upper cable car stations, work is also underway to strengthen the foundation structures.

Most of the slopes (15 km) of the future ski resort were built and commissioned last year. With the onset of the spring season, construction of cable cars and engineering infrastructure resumed.

The builders have also begun creating a garage for the gondolas, and are preparing the foundations for linear supports and foundation pits for future stations for three more cable cars. About 200 people and 70 pieces of equipment are involved at the site.

At the future Mamison resort in North Ossetia, active construction of a unique cable car has also begun, which promises to become the longest gondola-type cable car in the country. In ten-seater cabins, tourists will rise to a height of 3,200 meters. Taking into account the difficult terrain and rough terrain, the cable car will be mounted on 21 supports.

Today, the construction of the foundations of the columns of the lower cable car station and the rolling stock garage is underway, as well as the clearing of sites and preparation for concreting. Preparatory work has also begun at the facilities of the second cable car, where the height of the snow cover today still reaches two meters. This will be a chairlift on 13 supports, 1.6 km long, with 72 cabins running along it.

Along the cableways, profiling of ski slopes and the creation of an artificial snowmaking system will soon begin. Construction and installation work is currently being carried out at the sites of the multifunctional center, snowcat garage, future flat parking, as well as at engineering infrastructure facilities.

According to Sergei Nazarov, there are risks of delays in terms of some of the objects of SEZ residents – private investors. We are talking about the places of accommodation and catering necessary for the resort. Now the team is exploring alternative options, in particular, a decision has been made to attract a resident to create a view restaurant at the upper station of the cable car.

Based on the results of the inspection, meetings were held at the Veduchi and Mamison construction sites with representatives of the governments of the republics, contractors, and the Kavkaz.RF Development Institute. They proposed solutions to emerging problems, for example, related to attracting qualified specialists to perform monolithic work.

Taking into account the complexity of installation of technological equipment and the duration of commissioning work for cable cars, Sergei Nazarov ordered, together with local authorities, to mobilize the necessary labor resources to comply with the schedule. According to him, there is reason to say that the task of launching resorts in the new season will be achieved.
