On May 14, in the city of Innopolis (Republic of Tatarstan) on the sidelines of the XV International Economic Forum “Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum”, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia Dmitry Volvach took part in a district meeting on the implementation of the national project “International Cooperation and Export” in the regions Volga Federal District.

In his speech, the Deputy Minister especially noted that systematic work to improve the conditions for access of domestic products and services to foreign markets is carried out by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development together with the REC on an ongoing basis.

One of the key mechanisms for interaction with regional exporters is the Export Support Centers (ESC), created as part of the implementation of the national SME project.

“Regional centers provide a wide range of services to entrepreneurs. At the end of 2023, logistics support was provided to 422 SMEs in the amount of 137.8 million rubles,” said Dmitry Volvach. – Among the subjects of the Volga Federal District, at the end of 2023, the Top 10 best CPE included the Samara region, the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Republic of Tatarstan. The task of the authorities and export support centers this year is an active policy to involve small and medium-sized businesses in export activities.”

To support entrepreneurs in the face of sanctions, various support measures are available to Russian exporters, which can be used by both SMEs and large businesses. “New support measures have been introduced to assist SMEs in transporting export products to foreign markets, as well as in placing and storing products in temporary storage places abroad,” the deputy minister emphasized.

Exporting companies can count on receiving various services from regional CPEs, including consultations on foreign economic activity, conducting marketing research, promoting information about the company abroad, organizing meetings and negotiations with foreign partners, providing assistance in standardization and certification of products supplied for export, in concluding export contracts.

An important tool for supporting the development of foreign economic relations of the regions of the Volga Federal District are bilateral events organized by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development with the participation of foreign partners, which are focused on the regions promoting specific projects in foreign markets of friendly countries.

“To establish business connections and develop trade, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development annually holds interregional and business forums, meetings of Business Councils, meetings of Working Groups on key issues of interaction within the framework of bilateral and multilateral cooperation formats,” noted the Deputy Minister. – In 2023-2024, 6 interregional forums and conferences were held, as well as meetings of working bodies on issues of interregional cooperation with Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Iran, China, Mongolia, in which representatives of 50 regions of the Russian Federation took part, including a number of subjects of the Volga Federal District.”

In conclusion, Dmitry Volvach noted the positive dynamics of the relationship that currently exists between the subjects of the Volga Federal District and foreign partners. He focused the regions on the need to flesh out their foreign relations and wished representatives of the regions of the Volga Federal District to continue to increase export volumes at the same pace, in particular in the CIS and to countries that are ready to build mutually beneficial and equal relations with Russia.

The meeting was attended by the General Director of Russian Export Center JSC Veronika Nikishina, as well as representatives of federal authorities and authorities of the constituent entities that are part of the Volga Federal District.
